Traditional Acupuncture
Acupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, an ancient form of medicine from China, dating back over 2,500 years.
The system incorporates the various organs and tissues of the body, as well as the elemental, emotional and mental factors associated with them. As a complete medical system, it centres on the idea of homeostasis (balance) – health as a result of the body being balanced both as a unit and within its surroundings.
Acupuncture involves the stimulating of specific points on the body using filiform needles (much thinner than normal hospital needles!) to help the body maintain or attain its natural balance. The treatment itself is a relaxing experience which will leave you invigorated.
Regular acupuncture can help to mitigate the negative effects of a high-stress lifestyle, and it has been proven to reduce inflammation and slow down the signs of ageing.
An acupuncture treatment takes 50 mins, a course of treatment is recommended.
